Brass compression couplings provide a reliable, gasket-free seal between two pipe ends without requiring soldering, threading, or specialized tools — making them a workhorse fitting for residential service lines, irrigation systems, gas distribution, and industrial water plumbing throughout North America. Our compression couplings are offered in two distinct alloys: C36000 free-machining brass for general industrial applications, and C27450 low-lead brass that complies with NSF 61, NSF 372, and California AB 1953 (≤0.25% lead weighted average) for any service where water may be consumed by humans. Both alloys are forged from extruded rod produced in our partner facility's foundry, then CNC-machined to ±0.05mm tolerance on critical sealing diameters.
Compression nuts and brass ferrules are supplied as a matched set, eliminating field assembly errors. The 6H thread tolerance on NPT and BSPT variants ensures consistent torque-to-seal performance. Standard sizes range from 1/8" through 2" NPT, with 1/2" and 3/4" being the highest-volume retail SKUs for residential plumbing kits.
Pressure ratings are 1,000 PSI at 73°F for sizes up to 1", stepping down to 500 PSI for 1-1/4" through 2" — sufficient for all typical potable water and natural gas distribution. Finish options include natural brass, chrome plate for retail visual appeal, nickel for chemical resistance, and tin for food-grade applications. Each production lot ships with a Certificate of Conformance referencing the NSF 61 and NSF 372 certification numbers held by the manufacturing facility. Private-label retail packaging — including blister packs with UPC barcodes, master cartons sized to standard pallet quantities, and planogram-ready POG documentation — is available for retail hardware chain programs (Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, Ace, True Value).
