Brass Service Valve Bodies — Ball Type

Brass service valve bodies are field-serviceable refrigerant shut-off valves installed at the condensing unit (or compressor) interface to isolate refrigerant in the outdoor unit from the indoor coil during installation, repair, or replacement work. The full-port ball geometry provides minimal pressure drop in normal operation; the integral 1/4" SAE Schraeder access port allows gauge connection without breaking the main refrigerant seal. Our service valves are forged from C37700 brass and CNC-machined to provide a square seat for the chrome-plated brass ball, with PTFE seats rated for refrigerant service from -40°F through +250°F. The stem is back-seating — meaning that with the valve in the full-open position, the stem seals against an internal shoulder, allowing the stem cap to be removed under pressure for service work without losing refrigerant charge. Sizes for liquid-line service are 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" ODS (Outer Diameter Solder); sizes for suction-line service are 3/8" through 1-1/8" ODS, covering the full residential and light-commercial range. ODS connections on both ends accept the corresponding copper refrigerant tubing via standard copper-to-brass silver-solder joints (Stay-Brite, Sil-Fos, or equivalent). Working pressure is 500 PSI, well above the operating envelope of R-410A and the upcoming low-GWP refrigerant transition. Each valve is helium leak-tested in the partner facility's QC lab before packaging. The design follows ASHRAE Standard 15 safety requirements and conforms to SAE J513 dimensional standards.
