Brass bus bars provide the high-current electrical distribution paths inside switchgear enclosures, panel boards, distribution panels, motor control centers, and industrial battery rooms. Bus bars carry the main feeder current from the incoming service to the individual circuit breakers or feeders that distribute to downstream loads. We supply bus bar components in two primary alloys: C11000 ETP (Electrolytic Tough Pitch) copper for highest electrical conductivity (101% IACS) in maximum-current applications, and C26000 cartridge brass for cost-optimized lower-current applications where 28% IACS conductivity is sufficient. Bus bar cross-sections are routinely produced from 6mm × 25mm (smallest) through 12mm × 100mm (largest in our standard offering), with custom cross-sections to 19mm × 150mm available on tooling order. Length is cut to customer-specified dimensions from extruded bar stock, with end-radius forming, edge-deburring, and corner-rounding as standard finishing. Cross-drilling for bolt patterns is performed on our partner facility's VMC machining centers, holding ±0.1mm tolerance on hole-pattern centerlines. Bend forming for offset bus bars and stepped panel connections is performed on hydraulic press-brake equipment. Finish options: tin-plated (most common for industrial electrical applications, prevents oxidation at bolt interfaces), nickel-plated (corrosion-resistant), silver-plated (highest conductivity at the contact interface), or bare (for OEM panel-builders who apply their own finish). We follow UL 891 dimensional and material requirements and ANSI C37.20 switchgear standards. Standard MOQ is 100 pieces per part-number/length specification; production lead time is 6-10 weeks including any custom drilling or forming.
